to do what?
yes you can use regular cat5 with the xbox...
are you going to a hub, computer or another xbox?

also your poll doesn't really make sense.

I think you need the special Microsoft Branded Ethernet cable - CAT5.1 ... its the same as regular ethernet cable in every resepect EXCEPT the pairs twist in the opposite direction.

But here is a trick - people have found if you plug a regular ethernet cable in in reverse (ie the end that goes in the Xbox goes into the router, and the end that goes in the router goes into the Xbox) then you can get away with any regular Cat5 ethernet cable.

If you are goign Xbox to PC (direct - no router/hub) you will need an ethernet crossover cable. Looks identical to a regular cable - but the pin to pin connections are different.

and what was the point of the poll again?

erm. MS's cable is just a crossover cable. It crosses two pairs of wires compared to a regular straight through ethernet cable. That's it.

Think of it like two wires for incoming, and two for outgoing. Only 4 wires are needed in the Cat5e cable in a 10/100 network- pins 1, 2, 3, and 6. In a crossover situation, the two pairs are switched so that one ends incoming comes from the other's outgoing, and so on.

So to answer your question, no you can't use a regular (straight through) cable if you're connecting 1 xbox directly to another...but you can (and should) use one if you connect each xbox to a hub/switch/router

Actually, I agree. I don't know for sure, but I think Deus Ex (the original, on PC), as a FPS was very innovative and very fun to play. I liked Halo and Halo II, but I wouldn't crap my pants if they suddenly disappeared.

I agree, i cannot understand what all the hype is about, i bought H2 and Star Wars Battlefront the same day and Battlefront is simply more fun H2 does not get a look in.

Seeing as i have only had an xbox for a couple of months i missed the original hype surrounding H1. I assume it was pretty cutting edge at the time, but hey so was the xbox itself.

I like halo- (1)&(2) alot.....I just got banned from xbox live, so I now don't really play the multiplayer very much!!! If I still had an xbox live account then I would be unseparable from it!!
