OK everyone I have been searching through this forum for the past two days trying to find an answer to my question as per Team Xecuter's request and so far have been unable to find an answer. So, if anyone would be willing to help I would greatly appreciate it. I just installed the X3 ce modchip on my XBOX a couple days ago, turned on the XBOX and everything worked fine. FlashBios 3.0.1 came up and everyhting was working well as far as I know. Then, I tried to flash the chip, after reading and learning all I could about it, by loading the BIOS from a disc. I had the switch set to ON ON OFF OFF OFF and flashed the BIOS with what I thought was the correct file to use. It flashed like the tutorial said it would and turned itself off, but then when I turned the XBOX back on...FRAG. I believe I have since learned the error of my ways through a bit more study, the only problem is I can't flash the chip anymore because all it does is FRAG. Is there any way to fix this problem or will I be needing to buy a new chip and start over. Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you.

you tried booting the 256k backup? press on and eject at same time. try that then try and reflash the chip.

yeah, but since X3 3029 is released, why not try the new toy :)? Make sure to use the version for your xbox version though. I suspect your first flash was with wrong bios.

OK, I got the bios from the "usual sources" used winrar to extract it, changed the name to bios.bin, burnt it at 4x using nero and all the settings as directed, booted up the backup chose load BIOS from disc inserted the disc and it said unknown flash, halting. What did I do wrong?

is the flash protect off on the chip itself??...u should have a red light showing on the x3 chip..

you could also try flashing to second 1M bank
pro switch settings
flash protect off..then off,on,off,off

Try flashing with x3 control panel cable disconnected. If that still doesn't work, I would definitely recheck your soldering.

Thank you everyone for your help. I am up and running now. It seems that I was leaving out a step in the flashing process. Thanks once again I really appreciate all the help. You guys are AWESOME!
