You can't enable it after the xbox is already booted up. Even if you could, it would be pointless. The bios tells the xbox how to operate, and is only accessed at the very beginning of startup. Once the xbox is running, it won't access the bios again unless you reboot it.

If you're wanting to play your backups on xblive, don't bother. You can't play backups without booting with a hacked bios, and you'll be banned from live if you do boot with a hacked bios.

The way you're playing on live (hd swap) should be safe.

Re: RROD

Did you replace the thermal paste underneath the heat sinks for the cpu and gpu? You're going to want to do this. Using a heat gun alone will not fix the 360. I'm assuming you did this though....

Also when a 360 gets hot it kinda resets itself and the RROD will go away. People do this near the end of a xclamp fix by leaving the fans unplugged.

This could technically be happening to your 360, but it's happening to you because your heat sinks could be on to tight or not tight enough or you put the wrong ammount of artic silver on your chips.

Just my input. Wouldnt know unless i was examining it. Sounds like to me that you're not reflowing your motherboard good enough either.
