LITEON DG-16D2S If it's not the laser, then what's next? looking for repair help

I have a liteon drive wasn't reading disc. I installed a new 14xx laser lens
I left the dvd drive cover off and inserted a game. The laser would move crazy up and down making ticking and almost like grinding noises, then stop, and i would get unrecognized disc, mixed media, or clean with cloth while the disc is still spinning. the disc doesn't stop at all. Just continues to spin

I removed the laser

I had another liteon drive that wasn't reading disc
I installed the laser in this one and it works perfectly fine

It must be something else? Anyone?

Possibility are worm motor or spindle motor. Or the laser wasn't put in properly. Since u have a working drive then use that one.

^^^ definately agree. Check worm motor/ spindle, clean with iso-alcohol and re-oil. Or just flash the other drive and use that.
