If using XBL is it smart to put homebrew apps in C: Drive?

Hey guys, Im running off of the old stock 10 gig HDD and was reading around for a while now and found in a couple of threads that it was a bad thing to put any homebrew apps (Dashboards..ect..) into your C: drive if you plan on using Xbox Live! because MS wil check to see if the C: Drive has any files thats not supposed to be there and possibly ban you if they do.. With this, I have 2 questions....

1) I just wanted to know if this was true or not?

2) A)If this is true, then should I just use the E drive to put my homebrew apps in?
B)And will this prevent me from possibly getting banned from XBox Live?
C)Or am I supposed to partition another Drive to put homebrew apps in?

Thanks in advance for your help guys...

BTW I am using an Xecuter 3 with Xapt3r and Control Panel w/ 1959 bios...

I have homebrew apps in my C: drive and have been using live for about a month with no problems.

Not to say that you won't have a problem in the future, but I don't think you will now.

Im asking this because my X3 shows that my stock HDD has .31 GB while the E drive has 4.49 GB.... Will many more things even fit on the C:? And is the E: drive just empty or does it also contain files?

The E: drive is intended for your game saves, etc.

And no, not much more would fit in your C: drive.

That would be enough room for your Dashboards, etc. though if you wanted to put them there.

EDIT: You can put all of your dashboards and such on your E: drive and then "point" to them through X3CL

Hey,
Xbox Live has never checked the contents of hard drives. If your using the stock hard drive I would suggest using all the available space. Especially the C drive.

The E drive is mainly for game saves.

I have also read on the forums that using the stock drive you can also format another 2 gigs to make another drive (possibly F: G: ect...) Would that be possible for me to do if I just want to have somewhere seperate to put all my homebrew apps with my stock HDD or is that something that you have to have a bigger HDD for? Im just asking because I don't want to have all the files cluttered up on one partition, I'd rather have each drive holding seperate things...

I heard that's possible but have never done it. Check tutorials or do a search on www.xbox-scene.com to get the xtra 2 gigs.

I believe Slayer has an option under Hard Drive Options to format just the F drive. You may want to try that.

The Xbox either came with an 8GB or 10GB drive in it. If it came with a 10GB drive, you can just boot up to the X3 Config Live and tell it to partition the remaining 2GB as drive F.
