I have heard and checked out myself that the xboxe and the xbox 360 is basiclly a computer so is it possible that we just use a normal computer hardrive for the XboX360 if we want a bigger hardrive.

ya regular xbox is basically a computer which is why pretty much any pc hdd worked with it. I don't see the 360 being much different but m$ might have found some way to make this simple process much more difficult on the 360.

I think that they will use laptop hard drives as they are smaller, but still relatively standard.

laptop hdd's what a laugh, a simple adapter could more than likely fix that problem I mean come on there's a adapter to take a laptop hdd to a regular pc ide type connection so I imagine that there's a adapter for the other way around as well and from there on in it'd be a case extender of some sort like for the xbox when ya got the dipswitch and 2 hdd's hooked up.

Good idea but you would also have to pull the 12v and 5v power supplies from somewhere too for a desktop harddrive.

You know Xecuter is going to come out with a Hdd mod. They have to if they release a chip similar to the X3. Who's going to buy a $80 chip when they can only backup 20GB of media?! Not I!

Easy there!
there are plenty of hard drive converter's for laptop drive's the key is if M soft will create there own, then it will take alittle longer for some one to create an after market one. I also think it will be a laptop drive as for it is a little harder to find really big HDD for laptops and there a little more $ but that won't stop us!!!!

Well lets see after buying 2 $50 dollar games your spending a $100 dollars where you could buy 2 online for $8 dollars....you make your $80 back real quick...or better yet a 20 GB hard drive can hold those 2 games...transfer to your computer burn them of and then play them for free....sounds like a good deal to me even with a 20 gb hd

I think its going to be relitively easy upgrading the standard 360 hdd.... it is out of the case which eliminates the problem of getting in to the 360. Im sure it will be done with in the 1 week of the UK launch, besides it is ment to be upgradable anyway. I just cant wait for Nov. 22!!!

I would have to think that they thought of someone just adding another HD.... all that stuff is probably married at birth. And changes and it knows and tells MS on you thou LIVE... or just stops working all together....

Marriage theory is bullshit this time around, because the hard drive is meant to be upgradable. On top of that you can use your hard drive on any 360.

It's standard SATA connection(data & power). Attaching a larger HDD should be easy as hell.

edited cuz I missed the post above me... and if you want more info on the HD & xbox internals, head over to www.anandtech.com

They took one apart a while ago... and even did a quick runthrough on the motherboard itself.
