Hello I just need a little clarification. I have an iHas624 B that I was about to flash to Burner Max but in the offical tutorial it states

"First of all you need to make sure your drive has the latest stock firmware before flashing iXtreme Burner Max. "

but then goes on to list firmware versions for the IHas drives that burner max was developed with.

GL29 is the one listed for the 624. However this is no longer the latest firmware for the 624, the latest is GL2A.

Question is do I need the latest or the specific one listed?

Do I flash back to GL29 before installing burner max or am I ok to leave it at the latest GL2A?

thanks
Thanks

The best case would be if you have not yet updated past the stated version (GL29 in this case), but if I'm reading your post correctly, you got the drive with a more recent firmware than that (GL2A).

With that said, my preliminary research agrees with KILLorBE; first, downgrade to GL27 [http://codeguys.rpc1.org/firmwares/dvdrw/stock/ATAPI.iHAS624_B.GL27.stock.rar] then update to GL29 included in the firmware package, then (and only then) write over the GL29 with Burner MAX.

Good luck!

I recommend to backup fw and eeprom first.

Make sure your fw is GL29 before flashing Burner MAX, as its based on this version.

Thanks guys that worked a treat. In case anyone else is having the same question. This is what i did:

1. Flash back to GL27 using ATAPI.iHAS624_B.GL27.stock.exe

2. Flash to GL29 using iHAS624B-GL29/GL29.exe

Then follow the burner max tutorial pdf to flash burner max.

Thanks
