I got the chip installed... every solder is perfect.

I got a CDRW with the bios on it....... everything is perfect

I set the banks correctly.. on on off off off

I flashed the bios..... it said it took it... but it does nothing.

What exactly should the screen look like after I flashed? Should it just say 3.0.1? Should it boot to something?

Also, i've read every freggin thread on FTPing the box... and getting slayers to autorun.. but it does not work. Same CD i flashed bios with so I know they're good.... but it won't boot to the CD.

Ideas?

I have an X3 pro
v 1.5 box
US version

No, that did not flash. If it flashes correctly it shuts down on it's own

Go here then to the BIOS Flashing section

It went through all of those steps.. took about 20 seconds.. then rebooted itself.

What should it look like if it is flashed correctly?

Heres my steps:
just got bios from xbins.
un-rar'd
packed dummy file of 100mb.
choose a dvd instead of cd-rw
nero: made sure no joilet fs.
burned at 1 speed.

Double checked by chip to make sure that flash protect was off.
Booted xbox to cromwell.
changed switches to all 'off'
selected boot from cd/dvd
tray opens -closed ..flashing...shutdown.
Comes up with xecuter "logo" at bottom.

mission accomplished.

Problems I had as a new flasher:

A) didnt read the docs :p

B) bios size is 1 mb , obviously you cannot burn to 256k only switch setup

C) '' " "" 512k ""

D) After moving switches I had to think about where the cromwell bios resides :p

Great work guys. Appreciate the time spent.

I've read about everything I can possibly think of..... twice.

Google hates me i've googled it so many times. I did everything you said except I used a CDRW instead of a DVD because it says to use a DVD-RW and I have DVD+RW burner. It will not burn -rw's so...

I guess I have to go buy a DVD-RW

just wondering, why don't you try to flash your chip using http. its super simple this way, im my opinion. but since you said you tried to ftp to your xbox, n couldn't i guess you went with the CD method. but i used a cross over cable from my pc to xbox n it worked like a charm....very easy, no need for media mixups or compatibility....hope you can get the cd or dvd to work!!!

Did you try using http://<xboxip> in a browser? FlashBios doesn't have an embedded ftp server, only a webserver, which is why ftp'ing won't work at this stage.
Once you get the X3 bios loaded you'll be able to ftp all you want.

Video problems are due to a bad solder somewhere (from what I've read)

But.. GOOD NEWS!

I grabbed a "repack" of 1957 and flashed it

BLAMO! It worked. I guess my box doesn't like the original? :shrugs:

I got slayers installed... everything is well.

Thanks guys!

Are all consoles currently on sale moddible?

Hi

I have just had my xbox 360 banned. I had a year of play before it was banned so I did OK.

Im thinking of buying another 360 and wanted to know if they are currently moddible? I would probably try the LT firmware when it is released.

Re: Are all consoles currently on sale moddible?

No they are not all moddable, I live Western USA and
have seen many Liteon 93 editions in my area. They are
said to be "rare" in the marketplace and more from repairs
but they are out there and to date still unable to dump
the key from the drive.
