I'm a total NOOB that needs some help...

i'm a total noob when it comes to modding X-Box-es, so i need some help.

i just bought a 250 GIG Western Digital HDD the other day and i ordered a Xecuter 3 CE Solderless modchip for my system... is this all i'm going to need in order to "download games" to my hard-drive? or do i have to install anything else? (basically- are all the abilities of my xbox unleashed when i install my modchip?)

i am also wondering what BIOS are...i have no clue.

The first thing to do before you start modding your Xbox is read a lot of info. Best place to start (I think) is the links below:

The main things you need to concentrate on are:

1. Installing the chip successfully. (There are excellent guides at the right-hand-side of the teamxecuter homepage).
2. Learn what Xbins is (IRC).
3. Flashing the BIOS on your chip with an alternate BIOS file.
4. Installing a dashboard (i.e. EvoX, Avalaunch).
5. Connecting your Xbox to PC for FTP access to the Xbox HD.

We all know what you mean by that statement matey just dont mention it here OK? because Microcarp are watching all the modding websites like hawks because modding IN MOST CASES (not all thou) LLEAD TO PIRACY, and if that starts here microshyt will shut this site down quicker then you can say freddy got fingered.

Yes please do some reading, I suggest make teamxecuter and xbox scene your new favorite sites, also print out the faqs to install your mods that way save you some time from looking from your pc to your xbox. GL
