My question is why does the PCB board havethe extra soldering poimt which connects point 7 and 15 of the pin header together? below you will find two links that will hoefuuly help to explain my confusion The first is the tutorial on the installation and they used wires to rebuild the lpc the second link shows the PCB board used instead of wires but also outlines where the wires woud be pretty simple and straight forward however using the pcb board seems to connect LPC point 7 and 15 but using just wires you DO NO connect points 7 and 15 and there in lies my confusion when I used the PCB I gott FRAGGED I took out the PCB and ran the wires instead and that cured my FRAG issue. Did I read (or misread) something? is anyone else confused by this? I onlt ask cause I am doing another install friday and want to read and know all that I can. any input on this would be greatly appreciated and thank you in advance for oyur help.

This link shows only the wire rebuild with no PCB board

This link shows the lpc rebuild along with the colour codoed wires

Printed circuit boards have multiple layers (usually 4 - 6), just because it looks like it is joining the other trace doesn't mean it is, one trace is probably on a different layer, i have done an install with one of these with no problems

Yes I know that and I get it thats not what I am confused avout though. My confusion comes in when you look at the PCB itself. LOOK AT THIS PIC

you will see pin # 7(between blu & green on pcb) & pin15(bottom row 2 pins left of green) these two points get soldered to the pin header suppling power to the mod, but if you choose to use wires instead you do not connect those two pins I used the PCB board and got fragged but when I took it out and soldered the wires the fragging stopped. That is why I am confused. once again look at this pic it shows both the PCB board soldered in and the coresponding wires

That’s not pin 7, it’s pins 9 and 15. Both of these pins provide 3.3v power. The reason why they’re connected is because some people have problems getting power from pin 15 by itself when the do a wire rebuild so they’re told to bridge these 2 pins.

I’d be willing to bet good money that your FRAG when you used the LPC rebuild board was due to a tiny solder splash or unwanted solder bridge that was under the rebuild PCB that you could not see. And it wasn’t caused by the pin 9 and 15 power assurance bridge.
