Hi guys,

I just bought an xbox 360 with the RROD problem. I fixed it and it works wornderfully now. the fans were modded to work at 12v, I used a resistor to slow them (the noise was INTENSE). Also, the guy who sold me his xbox told me he flashed the DVD drive.

Now heere are my questions:

Will I get banned if I use the xbox on xbox live? the drivei s flashed but I will only use LEGIT games. Will I get banned?

If he used LT then he should have given you the original dummy file because you can't dump one if LT was used, at least not easily, so you are stuck without it. If you are using any other fw besides LT then DO NOT GO ONLINE as you will get banned originals or not doesn't matter. If you are only going to use originals you should put the original fw back on as it is safest for online use. First and foremost get a copy of your key before you do anything else.Cog

1 - Get your original DVD key
2 - find a local modder to decipher which FW is on the drive
3 - update if neccessary

If he used LT then you can get the key the exact same way you would get your dummy file from a stock drive. Youre not stuck you just need the equipment that all of us modders use.

If you go online (if you have LT firmware) and using originals you are safe as the security checks will pass.

However if you do go online at the moment your tables will update and you can not play backups. If you play a back up you will be flagged so if you decide to go online, wait until LT3.0 is out before using your backups.

Depends when it was flashed mate as before LT firmware came out Microsoft were able to detect it
This is true, old ixtreme firmwares are detectable now, this is the reason LT firmware was released, so I would recommend establishing what firmware is currently on the drive before connecting it to Live, of course you have no assuranses that the console has not already been flagged for a ban either.

The above info is spot on, there are no problems flashing to or from LT firmware, it is the same as any other flash in most instances and any slight changes that may need to be made are very simple.

You best option (as your only playing original discs) is to flash the drive back to stock, you can either do this yourself with the guides and tools recommended on the forum, get someone to do it locally, or send it to one of the many recommended modders on the forum, either way stock firmware is always going to be the safest with you not needing to worry about dash updates and such.
