Hello all,
I'm having a little trouble flashing. I've got a Xecuter 2.6CE Lite. And my Xbox version is 1.6 - I'm getting some fragging. At first I thought I may have to recheck my solder points, but when I'm switched to bank one, it boots to FlashBios 3.03 just fine. So as far as I know, if I can get it to boot to FlashBios, that means I installed the chip correctly, right? So anyways, I've been using the X2 programmer to flash the chip. I've had good results, it flashes successfully, I verify, and even clear banks and read from the chip directly...all good results. But when I put the chip in, and switch to bank two, it frags. Bank one, boots up fine to flashbios 3.03. So I'm a little confused on this one. I thought maybe since my Xbox is a 1.6 it requires a special bios. And as far as I know my chip only is compatible with bios that are 256k in size. So I've been flashing 4983.06 instead of the current 5032 which is 512k. I also noticed that sometimes on my FlashBios screen, it detects my chip and says, "Read only???" Is it possible that the programmer is not actually writing to my flash memory? ....and the only reason why FlashBios boots correctly is because the chip comes pre-flashed w/ 3.03??? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
