I'm having a problem networking

I have a cable modem. And i'm using a switch. How can i get it to work? I'm trying to load a bios VIA http.

I'm getting the same thing. I've got a V1.0 and when I plug it into my router I can ping it but I cant log into it through FlashFXP. I've been using the user name x3 and xbox (also as passwords) but still says connection refused.

First time MODDING an XBOX for me. Install went perfect. Am getting a IP address but keep getting a connection refused as well using UN=XBOX PW=XBOX with FlashFXP as my client.

I think the X3 has a new password and username: X3. If you have an older chip, then it's XBOX.

Still getting the same error with X3 as UN and PW. See PIC attached. You dont have to flash the BIOS VIA CD before you can FTP do you?

Flashbios has a http option. If you have another XBOX with a bios on it and both HDD's are unlocked, maybe you could swap hard drives with the one that's got the bios on it just to flash it with the HDD option. Maybe a mate of yours has one? I did mine with a cd-rw, easy if you know which ones your dvd drive reads.

OK, got mine to work. Turns out i had to goto a different IP address than what i told the xbox to run on.

Can't mix modem and switch

I do not believe you can use a switch w/ cable modem. You will need a cable router that connects to your modem and then your computer and Xbox. D-link makes one for about $40.00 and advertises it as Xbox compatable. But any cable modem should work. The switch you have will work for the computer and Xbox communication but you can not introduce the cable modem into the picture. It won't support it. Let me know if you have any Q's
