Alright, I was attempting to switch from the evox dashboard to the avalaunch dashboard....

I had connected to my xbox from my PC using Flash XP, and had copied the evox file from my C drive to my PC for safe keeping. Then clicked and dragged my Avalaunch dashboard file that I had obtained from xbins to my Xbox. I then deleted the evoxdash.xbe, and renamed the avalaunch.xbe to evoxdash.xbe. I got the idea to do this from....

http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/92204

When I rebooted my xbox it came up as the original Microsoft Dash, and I do not know how to reconnect to my xbox to put Evox back on it.

Am I completely out of hope? Do I need my X3 bios disk and Slayers auto installer to fix this problem I have gotten myself into? If I manage to get it back to running evox, will my harddrive still contain all the games and roms I had on it? Please I am desperate and in need of a response, thanks for any help.

I also tried going to xbox-scene forums but apparently they are down right now, I really need some help.

if you have the x3 bios hold the white button to get to the x3 bios menu

then:

1. delete all evox and avalaunch files and ftp over the avalaunch files named as they originally were

2. in x3 bios set avalunch to first boot dash

Alright, I have the X3 bios menu from holding down the white button, but cannot connect with Flash XP.

I was able to successfully connect to my xbox from my pc using Flash Xp and the ftp network setup thing within evox, what do I need to do differently to be able to connect this way? Please help, thanks in advance.

1. DO NOT CROSS POST - YOUR POSTS WILL BE DELETED.

2. You can set the FTP server in X3CL to whatever you want - just change the settings to match the network of your PC connection. If you think it's easier, change it to your Evox FTP settings.

does DHCP have to be enabled or disabled?

Is the username and password now "x3"

Does the static ip on the X3 bios menu have to be the same as the ip address under my network connections tap in tcp/ip properites?

I'm sorry for being annoying, but I do really appreciate the help I'm getting and just trying to fix this incredible **** up.

tell flash to connect to the ip listed in the bottom left of the x3 bios menu... username is x3 pass is x3.....

but probably all you need to do is make sure that the avalaunch xbe is listed in the boot order before the msdash xbe...

disable DHCP

username password x3

Your PC and Xbox have to be on the same network, so

PC 192.168.0.1 / 255.255.255.0
Xbox 192.168.0.100 / 255.255.255.0

Thanks, got it back and running again, huge relief.

Once Avalaunch is my dash, everything seems to work fine, except my emulators don't show up once I select emulators from the menu, does anyone know how to desinate the path for them? Thanks in advance.

its in the config file, i forget what it's called, but it's in there. just add the folder where your emulators are to the list it looks for emulators in. not hard :)
