Hi guys i have been reading thru the forum and i have a few questions if sum 1 would not mind helping out, 1st of all i just want to say sorry for any noob questions i may ask this is my 1st post so please go easy on me.
Anyway more to the point im really interested in flashing my 360 cos i want 2 back up my games. i have dloaded the pdf on how 2 flash but being a noob im worried bout ballsing it up so i have a few questions.

1. I have the hatichi drive i have heard this drive is harder to flash? (please correct me if im wrong there)

2. Out of the 3 methods of getting your drive into mode B is there one that most people prefer of 1 that is easier than the others?

3. What happens when you get dashboard updates and game updates? does it effect the flashed firmware?

4. last of all i have a dual layer dvd drive so i guess im ok to burn games but do i need a certain piece of software to do this?

Sorry again for asking silly questions but i am really trying to learn.

1. The Hitachi is different in that you have to get it into Modeb to Flash, it isn't any harder, just different.

2. Easiest method is to use SLAX to get the Hitachi into Modeb

3. To date there have been no bans from xboxlive (I assume thats what you mean by dashboard and game updates)

4. Clonecd or imageburn using the prefered media of Vebatim DVD+R DL. Altho depending on your DL Burner other Media types work just as well.

how hard is it really and does it take that long? do i just have to dload the latest hacked firmware and then connect my drive to my pc via a sata cable then boot the slacks cd from startup then it just runs its course, im so sorry for sounding silly but i just dont wanna balls it up

i have red it thru many times but i am worried about mucking it up can u just help me with wat i need 2 dload i take it i need these slacks disks anything else

It's all in the tutorial step-by-step, no one is going to be able to type it here any better than it already is in there.

i understand mate i will keep reading it thru and thru until i get it, i have watched all the videos on opening your 360 sounds pretty straight 4ward the one thing i really get confused is the actual flashing i have 2 sata ports on my mo board so do i need to buy one of those sata cards or not? and depending on your drive type and the firmware it has on the label are there different types of hacked firmware for every drive?

Don't confuse yourself by reading all the tutorials for each drive, open your 360 find out what drive model it is and then go from there. Then read read and read the tutorial for your drive.

the hitachi drives will more or less be reconised with your onboard sata, mine was is a cheap mobo with onboard sata an ive flashed a 47 and 59 drive with no problems at all, slax is my prefaired chosse to get the drive into mode b, follow textbooks tutorial to the letter watch the vids aswell and ya cant go wrong really, bear in mind i'd never even opened a 360 before an did it all in about half an hour, remember to connect ya sata back to ya drive though, unlike i did first time round thought i bricked my drive, just was so excited to see if it worked an rushed putting all back together lol

I will open up and see what i have, the 1 thing i would like 2 clear up is when u boot your pc from the slack cd does the slack cd go in the 360 drive which is connected by a sata cable 2 ur mo board? and do u have to connect it to ur pc when putting it into mode B the reason im asking this is cos i red the guide and it threw me a bit

No once your 360 is connected to your PC you boot your PC using Slax, so the slax disc goes in your PC, and it then puts the 360 into modeb to enable flashing.

you oughta read the tutorial...
the slax cd goes into the PC, which is written quite well in the tutorial... i can't see how you manage to confuse this with your 360

i have red thru the guide again and feel i have a much better understanding of wat to do 1 quick question i dont thnik i have a torx 10 screw driver is there another screw driver i could use i thought most screws tend to need a phillips screw driver

i just got an old one, and just sharpened it up .. (donno what the tool / word is called )

I will just try all my screw drivers and see if they work.
i think i finally understand wat to do, all i would like to no is-
i have 2 sata ports on my mo board not sure if they are sata 1 or 2 but i will try and flash my drive using them but if it doesnt work what sata card should i get and how much do they roughly cost?

finally if it has all worked is there a way of knowing for definite that ur drive has bee flashed?

If your onbaord SATA's don't work then you need a VIA6421 SATA PCI Card, ebay for about £15. And you will know it has worked when a back up disc works.
