Hello everyone,

Please dont be angry if you've seen this a hundered times before. I did a search and was a confused as i was when i first starting researching this. I got a xbox second hand with a mod chip installed. When booting the xbox up i get the Xbox logo and then it says "Executor 2" underneath. It then proceeds to launch the Evo X Dashboard. My question is i want to know if i can install a bigger HDD in this without having to flash the BIOS?

The thought of flashing the BIOS and killing it sends chills down my spine. I got a spare 250Gb Maxtor HDD lying around and figure this would be great for storing games onto my xbox.

Is there anyway i could tell if the BIOS loaded onto my chip is capable of the seeing such a large drive. I downloaded the "Auto-Installer.Deluxe.v2.11.Final.Xbox-Hq" that im told is good for setting up new HDDs so hopefully im ready to go???

can anyone help me?

Many thanks

Mike

the X2 bios that is flashed to your chip may or may not have been edited to have a F or G drive
you can check out which version of the bios you have in the settings menu of EvoX dash
i've never used AID so i couldn't tell you anything about it
just because it says xecuter2 at the bottom of the screen upon booting up does not mean there is a X2 chip in your box
open up your box and verify which chip you've got in there
