JF or dosflash won't detect the drive and device intro fails when I send it to the port. I also tried it on my friends comp and it didnt find it either. I thought you couldn't brick a liteon but i guess i was wrong. Shame, i still have the key.

Is this a Phat Lite-On?

If so go to page 204 0f JFtut 1.4.4 and follow the instructions :)
Yes it is phat. Pg 204, mtk intro? Tried that.

You have the key so press lite-on erase and power cycle it will recognise in JF
Thats the problem, it doesn't even after doing that.

unless you've physically damaged the drive you can NOT brick a Lite-on.
Unless their is a way to fix this, it is bricked.

Have you managed to recover an erased Lite-on before?

If not, you may not have the right hardware.

Check to see if the chip on the drive board is getting hot.

Nope, I've never had to recover any drive.

I have flashed the same drive plenty of times with the same exact hardware and method.

It's been disconnected for awhile, and even longer since it was last detected, so its not hot.

At this point I think you will spend more time then it's worth to fix it. If you have the key your in luck, just pick up a new drive and re-flash it. You can get new lite-ons for $25-40. Some sellers, like myself, will offer pre-flashed replacement drives if the customer has the key.

Yea, that was my final resort. Now I just need to find a good price from a seller that can be trusted and vouched for.

Dealextreme has them for $30 with free shipping. You can even have them shipped from there US warehouse if you want. It likely wont get to you super quick but i've had great dealings with them.

So you've never had to do this before, meaning your hardware may just not be capable of performing the task.

If it's a hardware issue, the chip on the drive board will get hot when you switch it on.

TBH this is why I got an X360USB Pro. No messing around with DOSFlash and SATA drivers.
