I'm so perplexed by this 1.6 install

Hi, I'm installing an X3CE into a 1.6. Now, I have soldered and both 5v and 3.33v lights are blue and one light red for unprotected. EVERYTHING is plugged in correctly(I am not a moron) but.... The external switch does not light up and when I plugged in the Xbox it turns on right away with the front dash not working, still boots up to MSDASH. Can anyone give me any idea as to where the problem might lie?

Sounds like the problem is in the switch.

Try bypassing the external switch and see what you get.

Also, double check your connection to your external switch.

Other than that, sounds like you are very close!

ok after a little more research, i've found it's when i try to use the adapter is when i have problems, the external switch still doesn't light up but it at least goes to the flash part, but when i plug in the adapter it goes to msdash

Contact the retailer that you bought it through and see if they will send you out a replacement switch. The chip sounds fine.

Unfortunatly, when you don't connect the external switch the chip is always on.

That is not a bad thing, however, if you have no intentions of using XBOX Live!

If you are getting the Flashbios screen, then your chip was installed correctly and everything is good. Just flash your new "Illegal" bios and you are on your way.
