Hi,i have just had my sons xbox chipped. And i am trying to find out what modchip it has in.a friend of a friend fitted chip, and i asked him what chip and he seems a bit reluctant to tell me,dunno why?.
It comes up with a screen that says live config at start another says Unleash?.
I looked in the system for a chip name but that is not available?.
The machine also says executer 2 rox my box ,or summit like that.It has 3 switches on front and lites, one goes blue when reading disc.I have a new media player but havnt got the balls to try and install it.
The drive shows up but seems to be a bit odd,as it says it has about 5 partitions on it all odd sizes and one with no size,a few are 750meg i think.
Any help would be very grateful for,i have read around and it is all over my head atm, sorry.Would there be a manual for modchip i could download anywhere, assuming someone can help, many thanx Rik:)

There are a great many tutorials at Xbox-Scene (X-S), I've convienently put a link in my sig. From what you describe it sounds like you have a Xecuter 2.6CE or 2.6 chip. Also in my sig is an ID your chip link, which again points to the plethora of information at X-S. To cheat you a bit, here is a link right to the collection of X2 series of chips. http://www.xbox-scene.com/modchips/x-ecuter2_lite_pictures.html Contains some large images, hope you aren't on dial-up! You can see the switch in a couple different pictures. The 2.6 (non-CE) pictures are pretty large, you can get a real good view of the switch bank. Primary differences between the 2.6CE and 2.6 switches appear to be the location of the LED on/off switch and the pin angle on the interface cable. Vertical in relation to the switch board, 2.6. Horizontal in relation to the switch board, 2.6CE.

You've been set up with a quality chip and apparently they installed the X2CL series BIOS. (config live screen gives this away.) Hop over to the X2CL forum and check out some of the information on the BIOS. You can do some neat tricks with the boot-up animations, as far as camera angles and colors go. If you have either UnleashX or Avalaunch as your dashboard there are areas that will tell you the BIOS kernel version. The latest is 5035, there may be some other numbers around it. I don't know if other dashboards (EvolutionX for example) tell the kernel version.
