IMPORTANT QUESTION!!!!!

I just recently fried my motherboard tryin to install the X3. (I didn't kno wut i was doing) and I bought a new one from llamma and they gave me the original hdd that came with it. the problem is that i get the " need service" notice when my old hdd is in the box. I was wonderin if when i have a pro reinstall my X3 for me will the Unlock hdd feature allow me to use my old hdd cuz I got Xbox Live and all my Halo stuff on that drive and I NEED it!!! So please someone help.

Your old HDD is locked to your old xbox mobo, and (AFAIK) cannot be unlocked in any xbox except for the old one. I have successfully unlocked an xbox hdd in my pc once, but the unlock code was required. The only way to get the code is by accessing the hdd in the xbox it's locked to (once again, AFAIK).

so there's no way to get my old data back? I need it badly. is there a way to hookem both to my PC and transfer the data over to the other?

unless it was unlocked with the original mobo the answer is STILL a big fat hairy juicy smelly NO.

O now it doesn;t matter cuz i found out i could recover my name onto this mobo and thats the only problem I had so thanx n e way

New computer chipset help???

Hey guy simple question
My computer is breaking down on me, so i plan to buy a new one possibly i7 does anybody know of the intel ICH10 southbridge is comptaible with xbox drive, cause i currently have ICH7 and it works. if ICH10 doesnt work what kind of chipsets are compatible???

well i havent bought it i thinking is it compatible so i should buy it, but i guess you cant really answer that without having the chipset yourself i was hoping atleast one person tried.
