Hello all,

I tried searching on this topic but was unable to find any information.

I have a recently modded 1.6 xbox with the x3 chip and x3 1959 Plus bios.

If I try to to the in game reset (L + R + Start + Back) most of the time the system will just freeze up and stay on a black screen.

Also, on 1 occasion, it locked up, and It wouldnt boot back to the dash. I ended up having to re-flash my bios.

Any suggesions?

Thanks again!

the 1.6 boxes have alot of problems with the bios. what method are you using to flash it? if you are using the webserver method in flashbios (the backup rom) then you might have a bad network connection. try the cd-rw or hard disk method, and try again.

Thanks for the reply kenny.

Since posting this I have reflashed my Bios from a DVD +r (the same as I did the first time)

Since then it hasnt locked any more. Maybe for some reason the first flash didnt take well? Either way, it seems to be working.

Thanks for your help!

Burnt out the power port of my fan

Alright guys what was a simple upgrade went disasterously wrong. Long story short, in trying to swap out my oem fan for the talismoon blue fan, the adapter which they provided me with to convert from the oem 3 prongs to a 4 prong power plug got all messed up. The wires fell out and in the process of trying to shove them back in the plastic cap the wires touched and sparked thus giving me a two red light error and shutting off my xbox immediately the power brick was also red lighted. Now anything I plug in doesnt work as far as the exhaust port power, everythings else works as long as I keep a fan on it. So, anyone know if theres a fuse or something that blew out or anything I can resolder or repair on on the mobo to get power back to the prongs.

Go here http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://www.rbjtech.net/xbox/aftercooler/schematic.gif&imgrefurl=http://www.rbjtech.net/xbox/aftercooler/aftercooler.htm&h=768&w=1024&sz=27&tbnid=b4SqvyTM980XOM:&tbnh=113&tbnw=150&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dxbox%2B360%2Bmotherboard%2Bschematic&zoom=1&q=xbox+360+motherboard+schematic&hl=en&usg=__80p5E424gRmxwQB2-Wbl6cy_Aq0=&sa=X&ei=aYoPTdyhGYORnwfFmtm3Dg&ved=0CBsQ9QEwAg It shows some alt power sources but you'll probably need a switch. Re: Burnt out the power port of my fan

yeah those are some great ideas, only thing is you know what the diff is between the 12v and 5v fans are. Obviously the voltage, but are they more powerful or just a diff power source. Also any clue what the oem fan is as far as voltage, I havent even looked yet or attempted repairs just tryin to learn first ya know. THANKS FOR THE HELP

Re: Burnt out the power port of my fan

So I bought one of those talismoon fans thats what started this whole mess you know off hand if I should jump to the 5 or 12v source. It came with that stupid 3pin to 4 pin adapter thats what fell apart when the wires touched. Like I said Im just trying to get as much advice as I can before I start to fix this. I thought it was just gonna be a quick 5min upgrade but nooooooo nothing goes as planned! HA!
