I'd like to preface this with: I'm completely competent with electronics and I have no problem with soldering and whatnot. Also, I already have soldering iron/solder/flux and I've got all the capacitors/resistors/diodes I could ever need in the lab.

I'm 95% sure I have Xenon (no HDMI, 12V 16.5A) and my kernel is 2.0.9199.0.

Am I SOL until demon is released? or is there some other method of RGH/JTAG I can utilize with my current hardware?

I have already flashed one of my 360's to play backups. I'd like to mod my 2nd one to be able to run backups from hdd or external.

thanks in advance

What do you mean by unreliable? Should I just try to sell this one and pick up a 360 slim or something?

By unreliable, we mean that Xenon units are by no means stable enough to run a modified kernel.

I suggest using it as a stock console on Live or maybe sell it "as is" and get another console such as a Falcon, a Jasper or maybe even a slim (with a Trinity board) if you want RGH.

Didn't you say you already have a flashed 360? What motherboard is that one? If it's a falcon or a jasper, than why not flash the xenon to play backups and then go ahead and RGH the other one? No need to buy another xbox that way. :p

I do agree the xenon is not realy worth trying to rgh due to its age and they can be a pain to get the glitch working.
My personal preference is falcon mainboards as these seem to have the fastest boot times and the least problems

Well, it turns out my other box is a jasper with firmware version 2.0.14719.0.

I assume I should abandon the xenon and try to RGH the jasper?

You will need to wait for RGH 2.0 because your Jasper will most likely have a split CB.

You could either keep the Xenon console for Live or sell it on, it's entirely up to you :).

You can JTAG that console, I suggest your order the NAND-X which comes with everything you need to JTAG a console.

You may also wish to purchase a CoolRunner and a NAND-X to CoolRunner programming cable for the Jasper.

Awesome, thanks, I think I'll go ahead and get the NAND-X.

But about the coolrunner: I won't be able to use that until RGH 2.0 comes out, right?
