Infamous Error

I just instaled a version 2.6 ce lite chip to my version 1.6 xbox. When first install the chipped booted fine with the original bios but i then tried to flash evox onto the chip. I flashed m8_16.bin to the drive but am not sure if this is the right bios for the box. Now when i boot to the chip it gives me a on off on off then it blinks red and green. When i try the second back it just switches to blank screen and the eject button is red. By the way i used an xapt3r 1.6 to intall the chip and all the leds on the xapter are working along with the blue led on the chip. Please let me know what i need to do in order to fix the problem. I will be double checking all the solder points tonight . Please let me know what i did worng.

P.S. I did not customize the bios at all after downloading and i have read that this is possible. Could this be the problem? THanks!

use x2 5032 v16 plus bios

how do i update it now that there is a different bios on it. i uploaded it through http.

you should have flashbios still on chip if you did not flash over it if not you can get flashx2 app and try that you will have to put the bios you wish to flash in to the bios folder then ftp it to you xbox then reboot run flashx2 then flash the chip thats if you did not flash over flashbios but sounds like you did check banks on chip reboot after cange switchers

I deffinatley flashed over the original. So wherer can i go from there?

You will need a programmer or if you have a friend with a modded Xbox you could hotswap. This is why you are supposed to read and ask questions BEFORE starting, you could have avoided this.

Turns out im prty sure i uploaded the right bios for my chip. I installed evox version 1.6 which is should work perfectyly with my xbox version. Im gonna go ahead and reinstall the entire chip. Its in there with an xapt3r version 1.6 but im gonna toss that thing and solder in the chip. Wish me luck and if you think i should try something else please post. Thanks

Evox M8 is a 256k bios. You said you didn't change it which I am guessing means you also didn't resize it. The bios will not work as a 256k file. Do yourself a favor and get X2 5035, and flash with that. It is a much better and much more stable bios.

I don't have a programmer for this chip and don't know what i can do to flash the chip again.

You will either have to buy a programmer or find a friend with a working modded Xbox to hot swap with.
