Re: Noob needs confirmation..

Yup, everything looks good to me. I see you've read the firmware off the drive and it's stock - did you flash back the original firmware before flashing it again? Check it with an original game first - if it reads original Xbox 360 games but not backups / burned ones then there's something wrong with the games you're burning.

Re: Noob needs confirmation..

Yep, I was lucky enough to find the stock firmware and then re-flashed it. Originals all work, movies burnt work, but man I can not get a game to work for nothing. I have coasters all over the place. I bought Verbatims today, and no change.

I'm starting to wonder if its my writer. Samsung TSSTcorp Sh-S223f. I don't even wanna try my HP DVD400i ;(

Thanks for all your help! I'm just frustrated as all hell though!

Re: Noob needs confirmation..

Are you sure you're using DVD+R DL media, burning at 2.4x and setting the layer break correctly? Are you using the latest version of ImgBurn?

Yep Using DVD+R DL media, burning at 2.4x, with latest version of imgburn and set the layer break at 1913760. Also set the book settings to Samsung/DVD-ROM

Re: Noob needs confirmation..

Do not set the booktype to DVD-ROM, either leave it alone or set it to DVD+R DL if there is an option for it. I personally don't set the booktype and all my games are just fine.

You cannot load games from a USB device unless your console is JTAGed - your console is most likely not JTAGable. You can only do the JTAG hack on your console if is has a kernel version of 2.0.7371.0 or lower.

Well, I'm not sure what could be wrong then, DVDs play, original games play, drive seems to have been successfully flashed with LT firmware. Are you able to try your burned games on another flashed console, or have someone else who has burned games they know work try them on your console?

By the way, I use to live in North Bay!
Nice :D
Getting off topic, but.. do you still live on Ontario? I was born in Europe but English is pretty much my first language.

Go to abgx360.net and scroll down a little bit until you see Wave 4 and YOU v1.2 by Kushan - this will tell you what it means.

Re: Noob needs confirmation..

Always use abgx to patch your games. After the process is completed, you will be left with the game iso and a .dvd file with the same file name (e.g alan wake.iso & alan wake.dvd) burn the .dvd file using imgburn at 2.4x (i use 4x). The .dvd file automatically inserts the layerbreak you need to have your console read the game properly. I made this mistake a few times when I was new to all this. Either got a white screen or Mixed media message. Try it this way and let us know. :)

When I try to open the ISO file instead of the DVD file ImgBurn gives me a warning message. Zeecar said he set the layerbreak but this is a good point - make sure you open the DVD file and not the ISO file when burning games.
