Hi everyone was wondering if anyone had done a proto (or any chip) install with a cold solder gun or conductive paint. Reason I ask is my soldering isn't great also I think the conductive paint would have less of a chance of completely f**king the motherboard or the proto board.

The paint I was looking at is from this link http://www.bareconductive.com/

All I can say is "Huh"! Never seen or even heard about a solderless install. If you were thinking about a trace repair pen, forget it. Listen to Blakey please.

Thats gonna be a no go. lol. If you REALLY want to do an install yourself I suggest you buy soldering supplies and practice/learn to solder before touching an xbox. An expensive xbox is not something that you want to learn to solder on. When I first started a few years back I had close to no experience soldering. So I started by buying a rrod xbox for $20 and practiced on it until I was comfortable.....

Fair enough no one does it for whatever reasons are very obvious, seen it on click BBC news program they were using it with PCB's granted they were simple LED's those worked which is why I asked don't think it was that dumb a question otherwise I'd have kept it to myself

The reasons are that for RGH to to work and be accurate. You need to have a very solid connections. I wouldn't trust a connection with conductive paint. One little knock and it could come off and who knows what it will touch and short out.
