Sata.. ?

Okay so i was ready to flash my drive and i get into my computer and unhook the sata cable going into my cd drive and then hook it to my xbox's samsung drive, then a couple seconds later my computer completely locks up and the only way i got it to to work was by unplugging the sata putting it back in the cd drive and restarting my computer.. why is it doing this? what do i need for this to not happen?

Was the drive powered off before you plugged in?

Unplug the sata and do all that stuff with the computer off. Then boot up.

Im not too sure
ive been having problems with my sata as well
im able to to Hitachi with no problems,tried to to a samsung the other day but couldnt get it into vendor mode.
But i did get jungleflasher to see the drive.
and what i did was i hooked up my sata and powered on my 360 and then powered my pc and if that dont work try powering the pc after you get into windows
