Install X3 with Xapt3r in a 1.6/1.6b console

Hi, it is possible to install the Xecuter3 with a Xapt3r solution in a 1.6/1.6b console?
I don´t want to solder anything.
Is there a 1.6/1.6b version of the Xapt3r "solderless solution"?

no the Xapt3r is for 1.0-1.5 mobo's only. the one for the 1.6 versions is coming out later.

LiteOn 74850c not reading games

I have here a LiteOn 74850c that gives me the open tray message after about 20-30 seconds of trying to read a game.

I have tried cleaning the laser, adjusting the pot. and adjusting the position of the laser. I made sure all the cables where hooked up right, and there doesn't seem to be any damage done to the drive (the Xbox had never been opened before).

The laser makes a weird sound when reading games and I even hear what I assume is the disk scratching against something in the drive.

I'm all out of ideas on what to do (I don't want to replace the drive unless I really need to). Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

But this time, it actually could be true. Is there any way to make sure it's the laser thats gone bad?

I've had a Hitachi drive that wasn't reading games, but it was just because the electric motor that spun the disks was a little clogged down (and was not able to spin properly). A little WD-40 fixed that.
