I had installed the 2.6 CE soderless chip in my xbox 1.5 yesterday afternoon. Got it all working, was playing games on it and such. Turned it off before i went to bed. I wake up this morning and it doesent work. I get the flashing green and red. I open up the case check everything, it all looks good. Just for good measure i reseat the adapter. if i unhook the d0 wire it boots fine to xbox dash. With it in, I get the flashing. Any ideas would be of great help. Thanks

I forgot to mention that I did try switching the banks, and same thing for both. When it was all working, i had the newest xecuteR and the flashbios 3.3 on seperate banks.

Thanks. I have realigned several times, and just did twice upon your suggestion. The board lights up like everything is working. the XBOX cycles 2 or 3 times, then starts blinking green and red.

If you haven't already done so, remove the adaptor and get a q-tip with some alcohol on it and rub over the LPC points. If you have a pencil eraser, then try this first as you may have dirt on the contacts.

Has anyone else been on the Xbox in the time you've been to bed and woken up?

Does it boot fine when the chip's disabled?

Will do. No one has touched my xbox. And yes the xbox boots fine to the xbox dash when disabled.

I would ensure that all three switches are firmly set. I've seen it before where the bank select switch was halfway and it would cause a FRAG...

That was the first thing i tried. Thinking that some how some way that my bios on the first bank was f**ked up so i switched over to 2 hoping i could just reflash it. Same with flash protect and chip enable.

It's still sounding like it's not aligned correclty. The problem with solderless installs is exactly this. Do you know anyone else with a 2.6 in their Xbox? You could try your chip on their Xbox (and vice versa) to try and isolate the problem.

Actually you are correct... Forsome reason the solderles adapter is not making contact with either the board or the chip right. I mcgyvered the standard lpc pin header and the chip and moved it around just enough for it to load the bios. I put all of the pins back in and the adapter, and the mod, and it still dorsent work. Not exactly sure why, I guess i might have to go get a solder gun unfortunatly. I might go to the convienience store around the corner and buy some rubbing alcohol, and some drinking alcohol and see how far that gets me. I guess ill try to clean the contacts real good, if not i will go buy a solder gun.

So it's definitely a connection issue! The rivets do make the connection better, but certainly not essential. If you have any nail varnish remover around (ask the missus!), then gently rubbing over the LPC area with a little applied to a q-tip (cotton bud) will remove any nasties from the LPC. Also, any excess lacquer applied to the board will be dissolved around this area.
