I am new to this scene, but I have experience in PC repair. I soddered the chip using piheads. Everything works great and I get to the flashbios screen. My problem is that I can't choose a flashing method, because the controller is not functioning. Any ideas which point is soddered wrong? Should I resodder the whole thing? I have a 1.6 Xbox and X3 chip. I tried to buy an older xbox, but all of the stores that sell used Xboxs in my area were out and what is fun in buying a premoded Xbox? None of the controller ports work and it isn't the connection. I tried unconnecting and reconnecting the connection. I can get to the M$ dashboard but can't set the time or date because the controller doesn't fuction. I really need some help. My teenege boys are going to massacre me soon if I can't get this working. :D Thanks

I've checked the port to motherboard connection several times, could there be a problem with a missodder, short or pinhead connection? Thanks fro the reply drewdog77

If you are getting the flashbios screen and the MS screen I would think the solder job is fine. Have you tried multiple controllers or checked the controller ports to see if they are blocked, sorry I can't help you out more.

I had this problem once and it was two things, my controller wasn't connected inside and the other was my wires from my external switch was blocking my controller from being plugged in all the way. Maybe someone else can post some ideas.

I had the same problem when trying to use the logitech wireless controller; but, after switching back to a wired controller, I had no further problems.

I'm using the M$ controller, no dice. It works fine in MS boot. How do you load the latest BIOS flash?
