I bought a large strip of 0ohm resisters for a couple dollars for the points that need bridged. Works great. Looks really professional aswell
Hemm. Not a bad idea at all. I'll have to pull some off of the junk boards I have laying around.

Ok so today I have time and am back at this thing. I took off my wire strands I used for bridging the resistors and was able to get them bridged with just solder.

While I was doing this I decided to go ahead and retouch the points on the QSB that connect to the nand. I think one or more of these were kinda dodgy because now I'm getting j-runner to connect to my box again but I am getting errors on every block again when trying to write my stock nand. Here is my log:

View attachment J-Runner LOG-1-11-15.txt

So I guess now I'll try disconnecting the 5v wire again and see if it will write without error. Fingers crossed... will report back here in a little bit with my progress.

Look around for some solder splash, when i have a problem like this i usually give the whole area a good clean with IPA.

It only takes a really tiny ball of solder to screw up everything

BTW: your soldering looks immaculate :)

you could bundle the jrprogrammer wires and push down slightly as you press the button to read the nand and see if it connects.
Also if that does not help try pressing down on the southbridge just a little while flashing to see if there is any change. did you ever do the continuity test?

Will do the check for continuity either tonight or tomorrow as well as look for any solder splash as well as try pushing down on the j-r programmer wires and pushing down on the southbridge. Hopefully something works lol.

Well at least you are willing to try all of the suggestions we come up with, post back if you get the right flashconfig: when trying those suggestions or maybe if you get totally different errors when reading the nand. If you find no shorts and all connectivity in that QSB, I think I would have to call it a SB related problem and I personally would try to prove it by installing a demon and read/write the nand and if it works, it's most definitely the SB.

I would also like to see what a demon install looks like from you, after seeing your QSB I think you could make some of these "pro's" soldering look bad.

I wanted the Demon and was going to wait till I got it up and running before I ordered one and don't really want to fork out more money for if this box is bricked for some reason. Definitely want one though and thanks about the solder I just got a new Weller station and it rocks.

My problem now is that my jr-programmer is not even being detected properly by win 7 and not at all in j-runner. Can't figure this one out yet tried a few things just keeps saying "usb device unrecognized" and won't let me install the drivers again. I deleted the old ones to install but says "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 34 or 43 one or the other)". Really WTF. lmao. As soon as I get this situation sorted ill be back at the box.

Try re flashing your Jr programmer in bootloader mode

There is an option in jrunner

From memory I had a similar problem with the flash config

Turned out I had to re flash my Jr programmer

After hours of searching the internet on how to (fix error code 34) for the "usb device" and having no luck I will try reflashing the programmer. Just thought since the logo doesn't pop up in j-runner when connected I couldn't flash it again. I'll be back home in a little bit and try it. If thats not the problem I'm afraid the poor thing is fried! Oh, well guess ill order another one lol. Anyone know where I can get one in the US. The last one I ordered came from Canada and shipping rates are kind of expensive from there. I paid $8 when I ordered just a replacement postfix adapter.

You shouldn't need drivers for jr-programmer boot loader mode, just flick the switch over.

In the first drop down menu, I think there's an option to program Jr programmer

If u have j runner loaded you should get a message telling you it found a device in boot loader mode, However if its not detected by jrunner in boot loader mode, try another PC. Preferably windows xp

Yeah i know i don't need drivers for bootloader mode as i had to do this at the very begining to get the programmer to work. Good news is it worked. Now it's showing up again in jrunner on my brothers computer didn't show up in mine after flashing the v2 firmware. I was trying to re-install the drivers on mine and it wasn't working. Anyways none of the things i tried worked after it was recognized by jrunner.

Tried:
-bundling the programmer wires and pushing in on them while trying to write
-pushing down on the southbridge in various spots while trying to write

...still no flash config

Oh well, I'll be back at this damn thing in the AM.

Thanks for all the suggestions

Yeah for sure, don't give up man. You may want to try to get in touch with the dealer who sold you the programmer to see if there is anyway he will warranty it and send you a new one. Have you tried XCONSOLES? I believe they are the biggest and best reseller in the U.S. and almost everybody uses them if they live here but they also ship internationally. If you haven't purchased from them before you may have to open a support ticket after creating an account to see some of their products. I'll go check and see if they have any in stock. Nope the v2's are out of stock but for $12 I'd be surprised if they did have stock. You could post in the "request for service or items" section of the form and probably find o e close by for a descent price maybe new maybe used but either way its worth a try. Where are you located?
