installed fine, cd drive stopped working

so i recently installed an xecuter 2.6CE in a 1.6(b?) xbox and it first fragged but i rechecked all of the points and resoldered and fixed the problem.. then, when i went to flash the chip via cd-rom, the drive wouldnt open manually or when i tried to eject it through cromwell.. i switched the drive and cable and nothing happened.. please, if you have any suggestions i would appreciate them. thanks again

Are you sure the power is plugged in properly on both the drive and the motherboard?

yeah i checked the cables thoroughly and i just dont know whats up.. if anyone has any suggestions, please help
