I'm not a complete noob, I've installed a few but this is my first on a 1.6 box. Anyhow, I got everything installed, flashed successfully several versions
from X3_3029 to the most current. They all flash ok but when you start up
the box it never comes up with XECUTER ROX, etc, just the standard boot up.
I can't seem to get it to come up with the X3 config no matter what I do, etc. I've tried everything I've read. To test, I tried second bank flashing, etc. Same results. I tested starting with the different methods, quick power, long power, power and cd, I get the correct reactions as far as lights, enabled, disabled, backup. I can't figure this out. Can someone help me?

Thanks a bunch in advance, I'm about ready to smash this thing.

In recover mode (purple logo, etc) I get the flash bios screen, I insert my cd, it sees it and flashes the proper bios then shuts down like it should. When I start it back up, it just starts with the normal MS Xbox logo, no xecuter msg like I'm used to. I can't figure out why it wont boot the proper bios. I've spent tons of time going back over solder connections and as I posted previously, the x3 does everything is should do except boot the modded bios. I'm bangin my head against the wall... TIA for the help.

Sounds like

1. The wrong bios used to flash
2. Faulty D0 Point

Also the Flashbios does not use all the pins on the LPC
But the X3 Bios Will I know you have check you pins already but check again

I'll run through everything for the 20th time and see if I overlooked something. I have the buildout board so the D0 is easily soldered but maybe the contact from the buildout to the mainboard needs a retouch. As far as bios, like I said, I've flashed about 4 different v16 bios's, I know they are correct. If there is anything else you can think of, let me know, I'd greatly appreciate it.

if you are getting the flash bios screen and the the front leds are showing the correct colours it would seem that the chip is working but the dash board is set to M$ dash. Try holding the white button on start up to see if it goes to X3 config. I had one case where a friend bought a chip from a shop for me to install and it had been used and was configured for booting straight to a dash which caused problems seeing as though there wasn't one on the HDD ;)

Hope this helps!

I went through everything again, D0 is solid, everything else checks out, held white button down on the controller, no go. I'm about ready to desolder everything and start over but I'm afraid if I do that I'm not gonna have enough to solder to and being that it seems to work correctly and does boot up to the flashbios screen, I can't think that it's a solder problem. Bigger hammer I suppose.. I'll keep trying.
Thanks for the extra thoughts though, maybe I might just have to send this thing off and have someone experienced with the 1.6 version do it.
