Oh man, you already even removed the QSBs ? What was the hurry ?

Seems like you didn't even turn the JTAG part ON through the switch on the JTAG QSB. The JTAG part is needed to boot into Xell and Freeboot. While the NAND QSBs are still needed to write to your NAND.

Here is what you should do.

1. Solder the NAND and JTAG QSBs back on again.
2. Check the wiring and the solder points with a multimeter to be sure they connected okay.
3. Since you just wrote Xell and then removed the QSBs, there should still be Xell present on your NAND. So, remember to have your drive connected to your 360. And change the JTAG from OFF position to 0 position, or use any other resistor combination.
4. Try to start your xbox. If everything above went fine, either your xbox will start with Xell or give you E79 error. No need to worry about the E79. It has probably been caused by the resistor setting. The resistor setting is different for every motherboard, so you usually have to try one or two different settings. When you get the correct combination, the console will surely boot into Xell. Then, those resistor settings are for you and you should remember them and probably leave the JTAG part as it is from then on.
5. Continue forward with the original tutorial and get your CPU key and make freeboot for your 360 and write it to your NAND.
6. Enjoy...

No problem. Give it a try and then tell how it went.

Anyway, seems like you were in so much hurry that you did not read everything given here in tutorials and different threads. Its better to do your homework on these things before attempting to do something like this, since sometimes if you don't even follow a minor step, you might end up at a dead end, which I hope has not happened in your case.

Since now you have already done what you have, I hope that your Xbox 360 will be fine and you will be more careful from now on.

Well, its hard to say what went wrong that your 360 did not start. But I sure hope that the original Nand.bin you dumped is fine and does not have any bad blocks etc on it, because this also might be the cause of your 360 not starting. And if that's the cause, your 360 is probably unusable now.

Anyways, fingers crossed. Hope your 360 gets back on fine.

Don't dump the NAND now. First check those dumps which you read earlier. Check them in 360 Flash Tool, Degraded and NAND Compare. If everything seems fine, then try writing either one of them back. Your 360 might then turn on...

And by the way, Jasper isn't 3rd gen, its 4th gen. Hey, are you sure its a Jasper ?

Why don't you post some screenshots from 360 Flash Dump Tool, Degraded, and NAND Compare while you are checking your NAND in them...Could be helpful...

that didnt work but i found a key online created a freeboot bin wrote it to the 360 now it turns on i dont beleive it.Im getting E79.what do i do now?

You installed the JTAG part back, right ? Because its needed to run freeboot.

Anyway, try changing the resistor setting on the JTAG QSB. It should help.

And by the way, I personally don't thick that what you are doing is going to work. Because the CPU is unique for every console and you cannot use another key on your console. Anyways, keep trying.

Come on, give some more details.

Which Motherboard do you have ?

I couldn't understand. Your xbox360 turns on with the original NAND or it does not turn on with it installed ?

You installed the JTAG part of Nand-X or not ?

Did you try power cycling between writing the to the NAND ?

dashboard 6717 <-- should be updated to 7371 before doing anything

Could not detect a flash controller! <-- use the reset button on nand-x sometimes this occurs if you stop nandpro and reopen it without a reset

i did wrong i kill my other xbox as well same thing <-- find someone who knows what they are doing at this point no since of killing 2 consoles

Could someone tell me how to update it to 7371, so I won't mess things up? I think might is 735x

and should I dump the original nand before updating to 7371 or update it to 7371 then dump the nand?

Download the 7371 update from here: 2.0.7371.0.rar 7.46 MB

Extract the rar file. Put the $SystemUpdate folder to the root of a USB Drive. Plug the USB in your Xbox. It will then automatically ask you to update your console. Update it. Then dump your NAND. OK ?

hi i managed to get the original nad back into the 360 now it works fine back to original,my problem is everytime i load xell the 360 wont start (tried the different fuses on the jtag board) ,so then i have to remove xell & inject the original nad.my prob is i cant get to the free 60 blue screen.so i cant read the cpu key. dont know what im doing wrong am i missing out on something, feel like the tutorial doesnt cover everything or im missing out on a step.on jatag tool im ripping the nad on usb, jasper 16 mb n it works fine.
