Installed X3, blue light no video

ok, I did a pin header install on my 1.0 XBox.

I've chacked and rechecked my solder points.

When I power it up, the external switch and the X3 give me a blue light, but I get no video or sound (I do hear a little static pop lick when you power an audio device on) and it will not eject the DVD tray (like it's stuck shut)


Any help wouuld be great, but I am guessing that the help will be to check the LPC connections again. Getting sick of puling the MB out!

Seeing that I am getting a blue light, is this a good sign?

I've tried to boot with the X3 disabled but it's fragging

take the chip out and see if you can boot to M$, if you can't them you either messed up a trace or there is a solder splash somewhere.

Do I need to desolder the connections to boot without the chip? I did pull the chip but tried to boot with the three wires attached, everything else was disconnected. It fragged when I did that.

Maybe I firied something desoldering the holes? that's the only thing I am not good at, I hate desoldering!

Fixed!

I'll have to say, I never thought my XBox would boot again, I was ready to order a new MB/HD. I resoldered this thing better than any other job i have done, it was a work of art. After Reddsimpson said to check for solder splash I checked the board over with a magnifying glass, with no luck. This morning I tought I would give it another go, I turned on the brightest light I have and went over it an inch at a time. I was ready to give up again and I found it, right near the video port I saw a bit of solder that looked fine but was too bright. The reason I never found it was from the way it landed on the board, it looked like it belonged. I don't think I ever would have found it without the very bright light and diligance.

I'm reminded of the qute from Galaxy Quest "Never Give Up, Never Surender!" now it makes sense!
