If it's blue and you havnt flashed the chip, then yes.

As to why it's split, I guess it could be solder splash on the GPU chip. The tiniest splash of solder could short out a pin - check with a magnifying glass.

Well I cleaned everything up.. So theres no spashes.. But still doing it. Could it be that the pins arent exactly straight? Resodering the pins left soder in the holes so it took awhile to get them all in and I couldnt use the plastic thing it came with. I also took a pic of what the screen looks like. Is I run a game the pic is fine.

So, apart from the Bios screen, does the chip operate correctly? All L.e.d.s on? Booting in to normal mode? Booting into back-up mode?

The split screen doesn't look like a soldering problem, or a chip problem at all.
Are you in the US or UK? or where?

Check that your chip Comes Flashed If your using a V1.6b Xbox Softmod tends not to work as i found out The screen may be down to the cables your using Try the standard Yellow Green White cable and but into front of TV or back depending on were your inputs are

Once flashed, the BIOS will take care of a HOST of settings for you .... including the display.

Good luck

Well instead of starting a new thread.. could you be of some assistance? I was looking at xecuters help files with burning a cd bios. But their Nero they use seems to be older than the one I just downloaded.. Also dashboards
Thanks

Well it's a heck of a lot easier to use the http and FTP method with a PC - do you have a network connection etc ?

That aside ,you need some cdRW's of a good make. Get yourself QWIX to make the ISO and then load that up into NERO to burn - that should be fairly easy. You can also use Craxion I think to make the xISO image.

Dashboards again, are really easiest using the X3's FTP feature. I started with Evox but later decided Avalaunch was a much better option mainly because of the on-the-fly features it has - like loading skins direct from the net.

Seriously, it's worth setting up a network connection as the small cost will more than out-weigh all the headaches and the ease of use for future software transfers and backups is great.

Well I wont get to appempting to flash untill saturday. But I downloaded Qwix, but I cant do anything because it needs a connection from the xbox (dunno why). Also I have the linksys wireless game adapter but its currently configed for my ps2 and i believe to use it on the xbox it needs a different config. But for the time being how do I get my computer to see xbox to get the xiso image?

Thanks much

Also would IM's be out of the question saturday for flashing?
