Define 'soldering at college'.

My ex could 'sing' - by that, I mean she could make a noise that would bring tears to your eyes (and not in a good way).

I think you get my meaning.

then sit back and enjoy there work when it returns .....

well the prices for someone doing it for me is pretty much the same as me doing it myself, also i will have the nand x to keep...also, one Q, if i did send it off to someone. wouldnt i need the nandx if i wanted to rewrite my nand and try alternate dashs? + update. just thought i would of due to the nand x is for reading and writing the nand.

indeed you will and im sure that person would forward original to you by an agreed method ....ie disk... email... carrier pigeon....

can you be sure that youre work would be as good as someone with more experience though ???
not trying to put you off but you need to way up the pros and cons ...and i know my option...

I have an Antex XS25 Iron, it's nothing fancy at all but it does the job. It's far from expensive, about £25. The tip temp is listed at 420 so more than enough for a nice quick joint. I have a 0.12mm tip and a 0.5mm, both perfect for the small points. You can get some decent reflow tacky flux on eBay (Martin C put a listing number up on his soldering vids thread) for about a quid with postage and some thin solder is easy to find. If you've soldered before, read all the tuts, watch all the vids and take it slow, you'll be fine.

awesome! going to pick up some lead solder because it melts at a lower temp, now just to look around for best prices for my iron. Thanks everyone! i will sure be taking it slow. seems my assignments are coming at me left, right and centre. so think ill be doing them first :(.

everyone in the thread i will rep! If anyone else has anything else to say (an alternate iron to the one already stated) then please do.
