Mabye ive missed it but ive lookd all over for how to do this and havent found it. anyways ive found speculation of how MS is finding modded xboxs and it appears they are lookin for chips through the LPC port and i was wondering if there is a way to install a switch that would completely disable the chip from being seen through the LPC port. For reference i have a v1.6...i thought puttin a switch in the alternate 5V would work? any ideas?

booting by holding the power button will boot into a full unmodified state.
at this point the chip is (electronically) invisible.

according to that, they are somehow activating the chips even though they were disabled on boot...was wondering if there was a more permanent way...as for searching tutorials, show me one for it, cuz i have looked thanks.
i dont know how you could miss the official xecuter tutorials right on the front page of this site and are also posted in my sig which i guess you missed from my first post here.

personally I think that is BS. the only logical explanation to the xbox live banning is the marriage theory.

click the link in my post and read the first post...thats what im talkin about...not to hold the power button, i know that, that post says that wasnt enough to keep him from getting banned. thank you for your input though, very valuable

as for it being true or not, i see it as another protection from getting banned

if you read through the forum it doesnt seem to be happening that way. It may have been a fluke thing about his X3 display. The problem seems to be with the new version of xbl (after halo 2) and changing hardware after signing up for live. From the looks of it, if you sign up for live with a new gamer tag will all your hareware already installed and not change it, you should be fine. What I plan on doing is giving my old xbl account to my roomate cause I modded my box after i signed up and creating a new one with the 2 months free i got from halo 2.

supposedly it was modified hard drives they were searching for and they caught those not the chips. but that coulda just been one of the many rumors bout it floating around.

I've been thinking about installing a permanent switch for a while now. I havn't seen anything before about installing one for the x3. Can I just put a switch in the d0?

aceman118 even if you give your old XBL account to your mate, if M$ have your eeprom and your HD serial they can easily find you even on a different account.
The only safe way is to do all your mods to a xbox that has never been on live and then sign up or restore your original account.

LOL this may not be logical or practical but if you really wanted to stop power to the X3 just put a switch on each wire going to the X3, you would need to have a wire install though.

if you really wanna manually stop it, stick a switch on the d0 wire, that is what forces the xbox to boot from the chip, so if you "cut" the wire with a switch, the xbox wont even know the chip is there :)

flashing question

Hi,
I have a question: I want to flash my xbox 360, but I only have a laptop (and a very old desktop with windows millenium :D). But, my laptop does have an esata port. Could I flash my xbox with this port?
I have a benq drive, my chipset is intel PM965 and my southbridge is intel 82801HBM (ICH8-ME)
My laptop is a Medion Akoya

Thx, Tom
