Hey all I have ran into a problem, I have tried to load Evox my xbox by way od dvd while following tutorials with no success. I tried different media and programs. I then went to the FTP way using FlashFTP, everything connects fine and I can transfer files but evox dosent seem to want to load. I have spent countless hours trying to figure this all out but with no success. My next step is to use Slayers Evox auto installer but I am on dial-up and it will take 10hours to do so, so I have alot of time to figure out what I am doing wrong. I would like to FTP as it seems a lot easier. I hope someone has some answers for me. I have a version 1.6b with the latest x3 bios.

Thanx

G'day Drag,

For evox to work you must have 3 things.

1. Tell your X3 chip which drive your dashboard is on. 'C' is default but you can change it in X3CL if required.

2. Dashboard boot priority has to have a matching name to your dashbard. example, if your dashboard is called evoxdash.xbe, then you must have that file listed in the boot priority screen. If yours is not there, change one of the others to match yours.

3. You've got to have 2 files, evoxdash.xbe and evox.ini on your hdd.

Let me know how you go.

Hey rookio I got my dvd burned and the evox screen comes up but i am having problems connection through my cross over cable. I was fine connected for FTP but i cant connect now. I double checked my settings and Ip address in my ini file and they are the same as my flashFxp settings. My network settings on my pc says connocted but when I try to connect through flash it does not work.

Thanx for you patience

You can FTP in X3CL,

Try that, if it doesnt work post all your network information. IP's, Subnet Mask etc the whole deal. (for both xbox and PC)

You can do anything that needs to be done, FTP-wise, in X3CL. So, have you got your dashboard running off the hdd now?

*edit* change static ip = yes and change default gateway = 192.168.0.1

gateway part is probably not required but just in case. :)

Ftp into the x3 like you have been doing. Insert the files you put on your dvd disc into the C drive. Change the one called default.xbe to evox.xbe. Reboot to your chip and select disable for boot to x3cl and make sure your first dash priority is evox. Reboot and you should have evox up and running.
