I find it easiest to FTP them to the c: drive. Boot into X3CL (hold the white button on controller from a cold boot) and setup the order you want.

So Is the Xbox 360 Slim worth it?

My 360 ( original white one with no hdmi) died and I do not want to go back to my PS3.
Is it worth it to go buy a new xbox360 or not?
Can you hack its hard drive to play games just like my old 360?
And does anyone know if the new xbox is a better build as far as the Red Ring of Death?
Any way for me to take my hard drive in my xbox now and swap it to the new xbox?

Just some thoughts before I go buy a new one.

Re: So Is the Xbox 360 Slim worth it?

The new box has an integrated graphics and processing chip, I think theres a noticeable difference especially in fast mapping games like need for speed or other racing games. Yes you can hack it but no the hack isnt released yet. Yes, all you have to do is open and switch the cases of the hard drives to swap them out. Not sure if you were referring to homebrew stuff, but if you are obviously you need a white console with and old dashboard. Red ring yeah theres a fan right over the chips and vents out the side directely above, and thers already console mods for diff colors and speeds for the fan. and FOR gods sakes go HDMI ists the only way! HA! good luck.

Re: So Is the Xbox 360 Slim worth it?

I bought one and didn't like it and took it back. It does have some advantages like the wi-fi built in and is very quite and the better chipsets inside.

What i didn't like about it was the glossy finish and it scratches very easy. As soon as you take it out of the box it gets finger prints all over it. They should have just made it the same finish as the elite 360's.

I will just stick with the older 360's for now as they are so hackable and they are easy to find cheap used these days. Just my 2 cents.

Re: So Is the Xbox 360 Slim worth it?

The 4gb Slims have the same matte finish the old Elite's had.

So what I did is just got one of those instead of a 250, then bought a WD 250gb laptop hard drive and threw in there. So not only do I not get massive amounts of fingerprints (main selling point for the matte finish), I also have an extra 4gb of internal memory for installing game updates to. The 250 laptop drive was only ~$50, so overall it was cheaper as well.

Oh yeah... the built in wi-fi is SO MUCH better than the dongles, the system is really quiet compared to the old ones, and it looks so much better.

When they do finally release the firmwares for them, I'll probably grab another one so I can mod it and never have to deal with the old ones again.
