Hello guys have just began to install a DemoN and I couldn't find my regular flux so I ended up using a no clean liquid flux pen that has basically gone a caramel colour. I also have no isopropyl alcohol left so I can't clean it off, two things

1) is no clean flux corrosive
2) is there any household product I can use to clean it

Thanks guys

No clean does exactly what it says on the tin, but i always clean afterwards

you can use methylated spirit or surgical spirit. use qtip (cotton bud)

P.S or even nail varnish remover

Hand sanitizer with aloe vera? :)

You could try a little spot to see. Just make sure you wipe off any hand gel residue afterward. There might be a reactive ingredient in there.

Why not go out and by more flux? Noclean flux is supposed to be clear. Flux is accidic. That's how it does its job. Alchol isn't. Therefore it will do a poor job at removing the corrosion and any other residue on the solder points.

I believe he has completed soldering and is now trying to clean up the flux residue left behind, although I may be mistaken.

Hand gel did not work however when I scratched lightly at part of the board some kind of came off in like a layer but the rest won't and I don't want to damage it, the only reason I want it looking good is because I am installing the demoN and then when cr4 is released I am installing that and selling it, I don't want someone to open the Xbox up and see a horrible caramel colour on team xecuters lovley boards :D. Dosent look like this flux is coming off without alcohol but as its no clean flux is it really worth it, what would you guys think is you bought an Xbox and there was caremel flux on every solder point ?

No-clean flux hardens into a lacquer, so that's expected.

There are two ways I see it: 1. Presentation is everything! 2. It's only aesthetic and won't interfere in the function of the Xbox/CR4/Demon.

Unless your customer intends to open the console or wants pics of installation, it's probably okay to leave it like it is.

Nope, clean it off. Pop down to Asda, Morrisons, Tesco or Sainsburys and get some nail varnish remover, its only £1.
