why use a dvd-r not a cd-rw?
please explain?

i am thining you dont know what u r doing!
if you installed evox which was on a cd-rw, then it would install!
only because u used a cd-rw this would not miss files on the installation!
i expect if you reinstalled using the cd-rw it would have worked!
because when i did mines (xbox 1.6) with a CD-RW 3 different times it didn't properly install slayer and i burn it on a DVD-R also using Nero and walla my fist shot and the dashboard appears, so that leave me to think that DVD-R (GO4 4x) are better than CD-RW in my case and other should try it if they are using a CD-RW and getting half-ass-installments. Plus DVD-R install way faster than CD-RW.

I am trying to install a dahsboard on a V1.1 I have flashed it with X2 5025 Bios the one meant for V1.x xboxes... However i am unable to boot disks now?

I have tried a few different media types, but i keep ending up in MS dash, saying "your xbox cant recognise disk" error.

And i cant ftp to my xbox either, as it hasnt been assigned an IP
