Installing Linux (Xebian) on G: Partition

Hey,

I want to install the Linux dis. "Xebian" on the Xbox. At this point the main reason why I want to do this is to run a mythtv front-end on the Xbox. I already have the XBMCMythtv running, but I prefer the real thing and that's the real front-end running on Linux. Xebian must be perfect for this goal.

The problem; I just can't find enough info...maybe my search abilities let me down today, but what I want is to install Xebian on the G partition. This is because I have a 160GB hard disk and have the usual stuff (Games, Movies, etc) on the F partition (127GB). I don't want to lose this partition. I specially made the 127GB+ space on the G partition for the installation of Linux. But I can't find a HOWTO or info how to install Xebian on the G partion, so every thing else will work the same (dashboard, games)

On www.xbox-linux.org I found the following:

Xebian 1.1.0 - With superb flexibility and ease of use, it can run live off CD/DVD or it can be installed onto the Xbox hard drive in either the free space or the saved game area.

This worries me a little. If I use the save game area I can imagine that games will not work anymore...because this becomes overwritten with a new file system I GUESS.

So the other option is use the free space, but I only what to use the G partition.

Is there somebody who have already done this kind of configuration??? And can help me with finding more info like HOWTO's or give me some hints or SAY "Dear Bob, this isn't possible, buy a second xbox and use this for an linux install"

Kind Regards,

Bob

For the people who want to know the answer: (I hate topics with no conclusion at the end)

I have tried this install and the feeling I had was wrong. There will not be any changes on the E Partition!

When you choose for this install (E:) there will be a directory added named Xebian in E: and in that directory will be some extra files like a root file and swap file.

The system still works like before with a Linux dis. on it!!!

Be careful, when you go for the two other install options (unused space or whole disk) your data will be lost!
