to make a long story short, after the last spring update last year where ms moved the key and flashed to 0225, i went to reflash my drive as i made the mistake of updating before going back to stock. when i was doing this i accidentally fried my drive (power cord backwards). my computer got a virus on it and i lost my stock firmware/key.

a friend of mine managed to retrieve my cfw from the chip off the pcb board. i rebuilt the key in jf with that barcode technique. got my replacement drive, lite on erase, spoofed key to lt3.0 for 83c and write. flashed and outroed fine. recognizes drive and firmware but the dvd key is not found. the drive itself just wants to stay ejected and the xbox power button on the front just blinks

cant figure out what im doing wrong.

Why don't you try flashing it with just the stock 0225 firmware and see what happens.
Can you post your jf log from any of this?

Edit: 0251 fw for the phat liteon not 0225

DVD Key: Not Found is perfectly normal for an 02510c drive.

The issues you're experiencing.....

How did you power the drive when you blew it ?

---------- Post added at 13:08 ---------- Previous post was at 13:07 ----------

JF Log is pretty redundant tbh, it reinquires fine, so it wrote fw fine.

thx for all the quick responses. ill post the log asap, the computer with all my xbox crap is in a room where someone is sleeping.

anyhow i have not tried flashing with stock firmware. just with what i had in my jf firmware pack. i didnt see stock for 83c

the original drive i had was fried by me plugging in the power cord into to the mb backwards. the cfw that was retrieved from that drive was definitely the flashed firmware (0225). but that wouldnt have anything to do with the key would it?

in theory all i needed to do was get my original key, spoof it to a new drive (which is another 83450c v1) and load up target firmware for it then flash it.

btw im not using any tools, hence the 83cv1 drive

the process seemed to work according to the logs, but i could be wrong. like i said will post logs asap.

maybe try flashing it to stock 83c like u say.

i think it maybe sumit to do with the dashboard update. u may need correct fw for correct dash. possible dash 13146 or before.

once you get it booting fine as it should then update to latest dash via usb stick then flash to lt+3.0.

and the new stock firmware is 0251c

Are you updating the dash with custom firmware on the drive? if so flash back to stock before doing the update

Also try using dash 13599, because 351f coverts to 13599 in hex, so thats the dash the xbox is looking for

Then what you need to do is identify the fault.

Do you have a random dvd drive for a 360 hanging around, plug it, in, does it doe the same?

If not, drive related, if it does, closer to home....

Change the cable, same? no, closer to home...

Try reflashing the drive in Dos using DosFlash 16,also are you sure that the rebuilt dummy file that you've built is 100% correct? The drive that you've got you said is a replacement or refurb, have you checked to see if someone hasn't tried and botched a Kamikaze hack on it? I have only seen this problem on failed kamikazes where the drive just says opening then closing but nothing happens and the center power led just flashes all the time
