Installing with S.P. adapter

This is my first modding attempt since I tried a PS2 last year (I shocked the hell outta myself and eventually fried the motherboard after messing up 1 of the 43 connections), and I'm terrified of ruining another system. I installed the S.P. adapter just fine, and it works (all LEDs lite). Then I installed the 2.6CE to it. Whenever I boot, however, it is as though there is no modchip. How exactly do the modchip and adapter plug together (I think that may be the problem)? Also, do I need to power both the adapter and the modchip (I think that may be too much)? With the adapter, what exactly do I still need to plug in with the modchip? I'm sorry, but whenever they release these adapters they don't tell you how to use them very well. Thanks to anyone who can help me out!

ok there are two spice adapter one has 12 pins and the other that has 18 and the 5v plug to get 5v power to the chip hope this helps
one more thing if you got a v1.0 to v1.5 xbox the spice is a waste of money you use just one part and put the rest in the bin there made for the v1.6 xbox
and only the v1.6 xbox unless you wont to waste you money

OK, the solderless adapter is working fine. The modchip is on and attached. However, it doesn't do anything. It boots up and has me change the time, that's it. So, basically, I have effectively installed a modchip that only makes the X-Box work. Any ideas?

the chip itself does not come with a X3 bios on it, you must put the latest bios on it, its their way of not getting into MS bad graces, you will not find the x3 bios posted on any of these websites it would result in getting ban, you need to learn to use xbins you will find it there, also make sure you use the correct X3 bios for your chip they are different and writen from different version of xboxes

It says that it comes with a Cromwell BIOS.

Here's the real question: How does the damn modchip attach to the adapter? I've tried every way and it seems like none of them are right. Some ways the box turns off, and the way I think is right just turns the box on normally. I honestly have no idea how to put the thing on!

Cromwell BIOS is a back up Bios.... I know what you are trying to do and that not the bios you want to use thats if something goes wrong you can always get back into the chip.. you need to look for the X3 bios.

its illegal for them to put the X3 bios on for you since its used to copy illegal material and play material illegaly

if you look at his 8th post he is trying to do everything with the stock Cromwell BIOS not going to work that way he needs to flash the X3

Please don't post the wrong information. His post says he has a 2.6, NOT an X3. The X3 bios will not work on a 2.6, and if he does flash with your suggested bios he will need a programmer courtesy of your bad information.

I have the right spice and all and it has power. I honestly have no idea what I'm doing wrong here. Could someone possibly post a picture of what a finished product is supposed to look like? I'm obviously plugging something in wrong or missing something.

That's right. It's properly powered by the hard drive power cord through the accessory included with the chip and is attached to the chip.

Sorry if I am missing something, but right under the pictures it says..

The XENIUM Solderless solution for ALL XBOX Versions ( v1.0 - v1.6B !! ) This adapter is very very advanced and is very easy to install. This Adapter ONLY WORKS with the XENIUM ICE chip.

Meaning you bought the wrong one. The one that work's is this one..
