installing x3

I have tried to install an x3 on a version 1.6 box. The xbox wont boot with the chip on but when the chip is off the box boots fine. I have checked all my solder points and they seem to be fine. The 3.3 volt light doesnt come on so where do I need to look for problems. thank you

What about the alt 5V? Did you do that?

One of your pins on the pinheader is not making contact. Re check your soldering

Pin 15 and pin 9 are 3.3 volts. Try one or the other. BTW, recheck your sodlering on those pins.

I'm sorry for the above post, I misread it. I thought it said that you did have the 3.3v light. My bad

i checked all the points with a meter and they have power. I even checked on the back of the chip with it on the box and it is registering power. the 3.3v still isnt lighting up. any other possibilities

nope, no other possibilities. Except recheck those two pins mentioned. Well, there is always the possibility you fubared the chip while attempting to install it.

Yeah, if you checked the pins and they are getting the proper power, you either did something to the chip (check for bad traces, etc) or it's a bad chip. No need to check solders if you show power on a meter but it doesn't show up with the chip.
