Hey guys,

I've been using coolshrimp's jtag tool to install the latest Freeboot version.

My question is firstly, instead of installing Xell, can I just install Xellous with this app? From my research I gather that Xellous is alot better in various ways.

Also, since I already have Xell installed on both my Xenon AND Falcon consoles, how can I install Xellous? Is it as easy as installing Xellous with the app, or is there some sort of way of uninstalling it?

Does it matter what console rev you have?

Cheers,

Yes, you can select whether you want to install xell or xellous by clicking the wrench icon and going to the last tab in the tool.

not sure about this one so I'm not going to answer incorrectly

as long as the console can be jtagged, you can install xellous

When you install freeBOOT, XeLLous gets installed automatically and you can access it by turning on the Xbox360 using the Eject button. So, if you have freeBOOT on your Jtagged Xbox360, then you already have XeLLous, not XeLL. OK?

I thought that with xellous, you were able to retrieve the cpu and gpu keys without having to add the two fusesets together, where it would come up at the end of the running script.

To b ehonest I'm not fussed, but I thought that by having that extra stuff Xellous offers, I might aswell go for that.

Any of the new freeboot builds will have Xellous by default. Whatever you use to get the CPU key (XeLL/Xellous) will be overwritten by the freeboot image anyway. I select Xellous as it's easier to connect an ethernet cable and get the data via my laptop.

Just to clear the air, when I dumped the nand and installed the freeboot image, I follwed coolshrimp's video tut on it where he clicked install XeLL, even though there is an install XeLLous button underneath it.

This is where I'm a little iffy.

Mind you, I just realised today that the newer version of the app has the Xellous/Xell Option, I just found that with my Xenon board Xellous is installed, but not on my Falcon. The Falcon was jtag'd AFTER the xenon lol. Bloody updates!
