Instant unresponsive black screen after sx core installion

Hello,

I installed the SX CORE today on my V2 mariko. my system was updated to 10.0.4.
Everything seemed to went fine. hit the power button, got the blinking blue and then stable green with the grumpy sd BOOT.DAT? icon.

I copied the sx os 3.0.3 beta file to the sd root card, powered on the switch, chip is blinking blue for a few seconds, then stable green and.... nothing. black screen. nothing happens.

I know my switch supports exFAT, since that was my SD card file system that I used before installing the SX CORE. I tried formatting to FAT32 nevertheless and still get the same result.

I'm pretty clueless on what's going on and why it's not working.

Help?

But when you put out the sd, you get that boot.dat? logo on screen right? Might be a faulty modchip? Try to ask the TX support via support chat.

I would try them in the support chat if I wasn't instantly blocked from that chat feature for some unknown reason upon trying it on the first go.

But yeah, When I take out the SD card and reboot - the BOOT.DAT? logo is back. I also get the grumpy logo if I put any boot.dat of lower SX OS versions than 3.0.0.

When using SX OS 3.0.0, 3.0.1, 3.0.2 or 3.0.3 I get the black screen. nothing happens while the modchip led turns from the blinking blue to stable green in a few seconds.

Super frustrating.

Similar situation but I got further, saw SX OS menu once, it became black during NAND backup process and never restored back

I would check the nand connection. See if all connections (NAND chip plugged to modchip, one connection from modchip to the nand connection of motherboard) were well plugged and the flex cable connector from the soldered cable is also well plugged.

I will try that, if it actually comes to this.. Just won't be able to go ahead and do that until next Sunday. You see, I actually did the whole installion away from home without having a microsd card on me and assumed that if I get the grumpy icon then I'm good to go.

Someone should update the manual.

Having the same issue with my SX Lite. I was able to boot initially and create the NAND backup, but unable to boot back into SXOS now. If I remove the SD card I still get the grumpy SD face. I tried a few other SD cards with no luck. Will try breaking it back open again tonight to re-check the cables/solder points.

--EDIT---
Oddly, I let the system sit for 30 minutes and when I came back it booted back into SXOS. I created the emunand and installed the license and now it boots consistently on first try every time. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Did you find any solution? The same happens to me...
Try slow formatting your SD card, format it to FAT32 then download a fresh boot.dat from https://sx.xecuter.com/ making sure you download 3.0.4 beta
If that doesn't work then try an alternative SD card, with the freshly downloaded 3.0.4 beta. (Preferably a sandisk as they seem to have higher success rate).

You gonna have to check your solder and ribbon and modchip connections again. Also make sure have the battery disconnected before you disconnect and reconnect the connections. Clean up the left over flux if any and clean up area around sd card reader with isopropyl alcohol.
