Well, I think that ought to work just fine. I mean, Shibz has done something similar. He had a lock in back that would not allow the PSU to provide power if the lock was "off." I have no idea how you're planning on doing it, but by all means, go for it! And when you're done, please make a tutorial... that is nifty! :)

I don't think it would work with the power button. If anything, it'd have to more resemble a car's ignition, and not just a simple lock. Because with the power button (and a car ignition), it'd be a quick press and release. With a lock, it's constant. So you'd have to turn it once to the off position, then turn it again to the on position, and back off turn the Xbox off.

My 12 digit-pad device is way better and cooler. Like the one in The Transporter's modded Black 1999 BMW 735.

A 12 digit pad would be sweet or anything else to keep out my siblings

Yeah. I have what it takes to be a transporter, I like BEING one on Driv3r...lol. Transporter's don't exist anymore 'cos of cop helicopters and bank security.

Here's an idea. If you want to keep your siblings out, why not just lock up your box somewhere when you're not around? Or, if they touch it, just beat the crap out of them. Usually works. As far as installing a keyswitch, it might be near impossible to mount it in the front. I do like the idea of having it in the back to prevent power coming in from the rear, as a type of tamper resistant on/off switch. If you want to put it in the front, try looking for a momentary single-pole single-throw switch, desoldering the old power button, and soldering in the new one to the sitchboard in the front. Not an easy task, but it could be done.
