Got an rgh x360 slim. I want to upgrade my internal hdd. Will any serial ata 2.5 work. I want to get a 1tb. I'm assuming it will have to be formatted to fat32?

if you never plan on using the HDD on a retail console, then any HDD will work.

If you want to be able to use this HDD in any other console, a 320GB WD Blue will work fine. If you go this route you'll need to flash a 320GB SS.bin to the HDD using x360usb_usb_hdd_hacker.

Nah, I'll just keep it in my rgh console. Just want
to be able to load games and stuff faster. I have an external USB, just want an internal hdd because it'll be more convenient for me.

Make sure the height of the HDD is correct, I believe there are 2,5'' HDDs out there which are 12,5 mm (I think, not sure about the sizes). Those will not fit, unless you break something inside the case. The standard ones (I believe 9,5mm but not sure) will fit just fine.

If you want to play xbox1 games you should make some adjustments to your HDD. A tutorial on how to do this can be found here: http://team-xecuter.com/forums/showthread.php?t=56165

I don't even bother using a case with the HDD's I put in my slims.

I just line up the power/sata ports and drop it in (literally). I'll make sure its a snug fit, and then I use some folded up pieces of paper for stability so the HDD isn't wiggling or bouncing when I move the console.

Course it makes removing the HDD a bit of a pain, but not impossible.

Use a strip of sticky tape to create a pull tab at the end of the drive for removal. I still prefer spending the small amount on a proper caddy though.

Out of all the things I've done to avoid spending money, I'm amazed I never thought of this

I'll give this a go next time I remove my HDD
