Hi

Am using usb pro ( original one-version 0.18 fw) with CK3i to flash 0251 Phat Lite-On with Lt 3.0. Have hooked everything up like always and get drive recognised (in XP) and then use firmware tool to inject dummy bin into LT3.0 etc. However, when I try and write I get this invalid status message. I've included the log below for info. I know this is fairly common but couldn't find a workaround for me.

I also note is that the port io indicator on usbpro is red is that right?

Also strange that I can't even get the drive recognised in Win 7?

Any advice would be much appreciated as doing this for my son! Thanks

Hi

Thanks for these responses. Gist is that I've only flashed Hitachi and Benqs before so not really used to Lite Ons. Already had LT2.0 when I bought box and now want to flash to LT 3.0. I know abut reverting to stock, update etc first but my son went on leve and now have new dash anyway.

I'm at the part after you've inserted dummy bin and spoofed into LT 3.0. Probably wrongly I thought you could just hit the write tab in MTK flash but I guess you have to do Lite On erase first. Is that right? If so, do I have to power drive on and off at some point in the process?

Look forward to hearing from you and many thanks

yes hit lite-on erase and follow the instructions (power cycle the drive) and it will intro, after that youre free to flash it. read the JF tutorial if you are unsure.

Hi

Did erase but then said something about device 0*90 and then drive intro failed! I do have key but am worried that I may have bricked drive now and son will be very annoyed. I didn't get any sort of prompt to power cycle and it didn't so it automatically even though that additional features box was checked.

I've tried running JF again but it now doesn't recognise the drive!!

Any advice would be really appreciated.

Do as martin said. I dont think theres is a way to brick these lite-ons by software, never heard of it :)

Hi again

Did the vendor intro again, power cycled and wrote and halleluja, it worked!!!

I'm really grateful to everyone for the constructive and clear advice. Just a bit weird when it saaid outro failed or whatever it was. Other funny thing was that the power cycle thing didn't run automatically even with CK3i-must have been the way I had it hooked up.

Anyway I learned a bit and will know what to do next time.

Many thanks again

Simon
